More and more major french brands are heavily investing the Chinese social networks Wechat and Weibo and their half Billions users.

Paris Airports and their W agency, launch the “Paris is our Gift” application for the Chinese new year. The application encourage travellers do to more tourism and less shopping in Paris.

How does it work ? For three weeks, the more you visit Paris and its monuments, the more you get gift and discount coupons for the duty free shops at the airport.

The application geolocates its users and ask them to take a selfie with dozens of monuments. Sharing these pictures on Weibo or Wechat reward users with gifts and coupons.
